AN OPEN LETTER

Eric,

Appreciate you bringing up the thing about income. Over the years I have been insulted by saying I collect WELFARE. Veterans Disability Payments is NOT funded by nor is it a product of Social Security.

It is a totally separate system, based on DIFFERENT CRITERIA that Social Security.

Most Veterans that draw Disability Payments at all are a direct result of combat and/or injuries in cured while fighting a war. And are quite traumatic.

VA bases it's decision on how the injury will affect the Veterans ability to support himself in his NORMAL CIVILIAN EMPLOYMENT.

There are strict rules about that and anyone that thinks it is a matter
of bull crapping a bunch of lies to some VA employee is sadly mistaken.
Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING is checked out, and the process takes
YEARS. That asshole inCanada is threatning to get half of my rating
removed. Fat chance dumbo. As soon as I gimp into the building and they
grab a wheel chair for me, I won't need to do squat. Hell I'm probably
qualified at 100% on my physical conditionby itself, drop all the rest
of it. Sorry Folks too late to attack me again.

Speaking of which. A few years back I moved up to Ohio to be with my Mom
and my wife helped take care of her. She was dying of lung cancer. You
know what those Assholes in BARF did? They wrote the Cleveland VA saying
all sorts of lies I reckon and I had to go through the entire physical
and mental checkup AGAIN. Of course I passed. And to you folks out their
that support these guys and support Karol too you are one of the same to
me.

It is a insult of the highest magnitude to be called a malingerer. Which
is exactly what a gentleman that used to be a friend of mine, NR5T, Douglas
Gerry out of Columbus Texas did. This after I opened up my feelings to
him, at his behest. He claimed he wanted to know how I felt about the VA,
saying he wanted to help someone out. He probably sent it all around to his
BARF buddies. I should have known better, but what the hell. This was a man
I have known since the early 90s. A man I thought was trustworthy. Oh yes
he also spread around the bands that I had died to his good buddy Karol.
ASSHOLES ALL.

Hi Dan,

My 70 year old challenged mind just figured out how to use this here thinga-ma-jig called a computator.

I can personally vouch for your service in Vietnam because we served together. I was an Army Sergeant First Class and you were a smarty pants Air Force Airman something or other and you called in about 45 airstrikes on Cholon, Co Loa and surrounding tourist attractions(VC HQ) on Jan 31 1968. I was there and saw it. You and your two other Air Force guys deserved a medal in my estimation for what you did.

My only complaint about you was that you wouldn't listen to an Army E7 but then again, few people listened to me anyway so you're forgiven after these 40 years. If anyone wants verification of your Vietnam service, contact me via my email or snail mail addresses both of which are on qrz.com.

Now you'd better watch out when I go to Dixie because I might challenge you to an arm wrestling match. Maybe this time I can win!

Dan,

Many people don't understand the welfare system and even more don't understand the VA system.

My wife and I used the VA for our home loan. A benefit afforded to people who SERVED their country. A family member complained we were given something others aren't allowed. You try and explain join the military, serve your country and you too can have VA benefits and they don't get it.

If you get hurt while in the military and it impedes your ability to earn a living this country is supposed to help out and in my view the Government looks for any way to screw Vet's out of their income.

Go on welfare, do fuggin nothing and they hand you a check till the cows come home. PATHETIC! ANYBODY who trys to negate your efforts in Nam or your right to get support for what happened to you while serving your country can kiss my hairy arse.

They have no balls and sit behind a mic and a keyboard because all of their pathetic life they did nothing but complain about others. If someone broke into their house they would piss their pants and cry for the very people they hate to come in and protect them and you know what, they would.

End of rant, aholes just piss me off.

Dan Jeswald is a personal friend of mine. I have the utmost respect for him as well as his honorable service in the Vietnam war. Dan did not spend the war in Germany on a bar stool. He actually fought in country and was wounded. I notice that all of the negative comments about Dan's service are from people who never even served in the military, much less combat. These are the same gutless wonders that run and hide when they are recognized at a hamfest. Dan's war record is public information. So is mine. So sorry for all you milquetoast, gutless, wannabes. Me and Dan carried our packs. Did you? Me and Dan have medals we can wear on Veteran's day. Do you? If so, thank you for your service. If not, feel free to shut the hell up. Causing grief for someone with PTSD is the most cowardly thing I can think of. Dan Jeswald and all fellow combat veterans deserve our help and understanding, not provocation and gutless games. This activity only serves to re-inforce the cowardice in the gutless wonders to start with. I was brought up to respect my elders, and to always respect a senior veteran. If you are reading this and do not understand, you never will. And that is pretty sad.

Eric,

Yeah your probably right. Perhaps us discussing it here or on QRZ will wake some folks up to the truth.

Jim,

Folks, Jim and I didn't start off right. In fact we basically hated each other.

But I try to work things out. Jimmy and I did just that. Now we are friends.

I'm sure that ticks off some folks out there, like Polly Parrot and David Tolassi. But guess what? I just don't care.

Jim is a Military Veteran of the US NAVY. He paid his dues, been in the shit, and I respect him for that. All our other differences are OVER.

Thank you Jimmy.

Dan,

You are correct. You and Jimmy deserve respect. Although I didn't serve during wartime, I did serve.
Like you, Jimmy and I had differences, but we patched them up. I hope he and Donna re doing well.
(Get on the air, Jimmy! hint hint! lol!)

Roger,
I am not demanding respect. What I am demanding is to stop this damn lying. I know that is asking too much.

Trying to cut down ones advisary by lying about that person only comes back on the liars.

I posted what I did to set the
record straight.

I'm no hero and never claimed to be. But if you listen to W4FQF I was "Rambo". Damn, aint that just what he calls me? And his side kick WA1BHV a self admitted draft dodger, tells the world a pack of lies and I'm supposed to back up and accept it? I don't think so.

I notice they haven't the guts to come here and talk with me. They want to do it on QRZ, that way they can get me banned, or on the air, to get me a NAL perhaps. Now who is the gutless ones? Right.

Dan,

You and Adams looked like real warriors with your M16s and all we had were the peashooter M2Carbine because we advisors had to use the same weapons the ARVNs used.

The major who came in to thank you for the airstrikes that saved his tail said it all that day. You and Adams literally saved a battalion of Vietnamese infantry with all those airstrikes. I'll never forget the look on your face when a rough tough Army major asked where was that Air Force guy who he talked with on the radio. You looked scared as hell. 'Course you were only about 22 or 23.

After your departure, we had a huge fight at the "Y" Bridge in Cholon and the F-100s were dropping 200 pounders like crazy. They began their runs over the An Quang Pagoda and swooped down between the bars and the New Star Hotel. We could have used your expertise then but Adams was a good man. The 9th Division later came along and saved the day. I was on a side street drinking a Biere LaRue 33.

When Adams said we were getting a new radio operator, I thought, "Oh God, not another Wingnut know it all." And I was right. You really did know nearly everything and began your radio shift your first day. Impressive because it usually took a week at the earliest to get up to speed running two HF nets, two VHF and a UHF net simultaneously.

Now what did you do with that captured VC radio? Did you call airstrikes on 100 piastre alley or the Hotel New Star with it? If so, I will never forgive you. And never will Mamasan and the girls.
Just kidding. Don't let anyone get you down. You're the real McCoy.

Thanks for the e-mail Sarge, thought I'd put it up also. Appreciate the trip down memory lane.

We have discussed how a good part of the actual combat action I have suppressed. That is probably a good thing. Time flies when your having fun, eh?

Glad that chopper crash didn't put your name on the wall. Really enjoy or e-mail QSO's.

OK on the Y bridge and the F-100s, I remember a bit of that because I was back at Bien Hoa on my way out of NAM. But there again, memory is real spotty.

Yeah Adams was a good troop, hope to run into him again.
