A miracle on 14275 last night.
Can't believe it but ole Karol stopped yammering long enough to actually talk
with me. I guess I am so weak up there he can't hear me most of the time. But
last night he was having a QSO with one of the original 14.313 guys. I broke in
and he actually began talking with ME. Whatever the reason I decided to "go for it".
I actually attempted to sort things out a bit, establish mutual ground, etc. This
is NOT my first attemt at reason with the great demon of the Frozen Tundra.
Unfortunatly I doubt I had much success. He was so busy talking about Mikey
and Brian that I was barly in the conversation. After about 45 minutes or more
I had enough, the band switched over to some other part of the world and I went
to grab some chow.
Hopefully someone got some good tapes. Well at least I tried.

Todd wants to jack it to pictures so bad he'll go to any length to post them. Karol between sucking down beer is so liberal Obama seems conservative, Teddy Kennedy even.
Karol actually thinks communism works, like Russia proved so well but hey brains aren't required to be liberal just no real understanding of history or logic.
Mark feels if you don't like someone just report them to the police for anything that comes to mind.
For every action, reaction, the code doesn't really deal with that much. It expects all radio operators to act accordingly, but with no enforcement some resort to how they were as children. Mommy and Daddy aren't around anymore and they miss them.
Like children they seek attention and have narcissistic tendencies. Some discipline is what’s needed but like bad parents Industry Cana-DUH and the FCC don't know how to stop being bad parents, so on this will go, forever and ever.

Although Wolfman Jack (real name Bob Smith,) died some ten years ago, his fans are still loyal, and for aficionados of 60s music, radio stations across America are rebroadcasting some of the old shows, and American Forces Radio features some of the best.
Now a Dutch company who trade in communications equipment has bought the licence to rebroadcast the Wolfman all over Europe.
So now, if you have a shortwave radio, you can tune into a transmitter in Lithuania on 6055 kHz from 2130-2230 UTC each weekday evening and relive the halcyon days of pop radio, complete with the fading and whistle characteristic of listening to a distant transmitter.

Just figured out what we need to do.
Seems to me this country went to hotel about the time the hippies tried to take over the society. If you all remember back then we had the Military Draft. And a big part of the hippies thing was to refuse to be drafted. The ones that didn't run to Canada and actually got drafted, made pretty good Soldiers for the most part. They knew they had two years to do, put up with the lifers for that time and the're done.
I was one of those lifers. As a matter of fact I joined the Military before the Gulf of Tonkin in 1964. And during the 70s I was a Army Sergeant, meaning I pushed troops along with my regular job. I was in Germany during that time and I got along fine with the draftees.
What I'm getting to is this country needs the draft back. Why? well one thing we need more troops to fight the Terrorists worldwide. But the reason we need to draft in my mind is to save the USA from self destruction. Yep, that's what I said.
Look....you get up to 18 and you either hang around the hood, selling drugs or whatever, or go to college...IF YOU CAN AFFORD IT. OR you give up 2 years of your life and learn how to GROW UP. Yep....GROW UP.
That's the problem. The youth of today are taught the Liberal BS Line by the survivors of the Haight Ashbury crowd and what we get is a bunch of know it all's with no direction or purpose.
I realise that the wannabe hippies out there won't like this plan. But Basic Training can do wonders for you. It will build muscles, create confidence and you will learn when to shut the heck up. Not to mention how to shoot well.
Can you just imagine a David Tolassi humping the trail in the Ia Drang Valley and making those helicopter sounds and making like he has no idea what is happening? The Platoon leader would make him wish he never heard of the Green Machine.
Or folks like those 9 landers and free speech and pedophilia and somomy. Anyone want to take book on how long they would last in the baracks? Anyone seen the lye soap and Army Blanket....oh man I'd buy tickets for that show. One thing about the military. You either get with it, or wish you did....BWAHAHAHAHAHA.
Lets talk to those losers in Congress and point this out to them. Heck, maybe we can get them to join the Army too.

Has anyone noticed.
Has anyone noticed how the bands are getting less and less active? Even after the total removal of the CW Mode testing things are still quite slow.
I operate mainly 20 meters, SSB, CW, Digital. And being retired can basically get
on whenever I want. But I usually get on in mid to late afternoons, and quit when
the band dies. Here lately it's been quite a bit later in the evening, basically
normal.
I've been a ham for 47 years. I have operated through several sunspot cycles and have been on the air from South East Asia, Pacific, Europe and several places in
the US.
What I'm getting at is that I have been active from various parts of the world for nearly 5 decades, so I think I can make these observations.
We may have the numbers, BUT we certainly don't have the on the air activity. Two meter FM is basically dead. From what I've read and heard it is all over the country. Any comments on why out there in cyber-space?
Yes I know sunspots make a big difference. However what normaly would happen is that everyone would be squeezed to the MUF part of the spectrum. I.E. 40 and 20
meters. However one can tune 20 meters and find massive areas of no signal. 40
is not much different. And CW is even less active.
I remember when it was nearly impossible to find a hole to squeeze into on 40 or 20
meter phone nearly anytime of the day. But it sure ain't like that now.
HOWEVER it is not a total matter of propagation. I also like to contest...have you ever noticed how active the bands are during a major contest? See my point?
Tell me....when I was first on the air, we had about 200K stations. Now were at what 900K? Uh where are they? Look at the latest on the Extra///where are they at?
Something is rotten here folks.
Yeah I know, conditions suck. But guess what? Put up a real antenna, you will work what you hear. Nothing changed here. Trying to work any distance at all on say, 20 phone, with a 100watt rig into a maybe resonant antenna is asking to be ignored.
I hate to tell ya but HF is NOT like 2m FM Repeaters.
What has changed in my opinion is the "ham spirit" has DIED. That's right, DIED. I hear very little talk of building anything any more. I hear lots of Extra's getting store bought antenna's and not having a clue on how to make a simple dipole. Build a rig? All I see is some QRP guys doing that. VHF/UHF weak signal? Nope...where are all the real hams these days? Have they all died out? Or have they gave up? I think it is the later. I do hear a lot of old time ham speak, you know like fixing, modifying, building equipment on the AM groups. WOW...what does that say, eh? I like that mode, to a point. Life is a bit short for 45 minute transmissions from one station in a group of 4 or more...hi hi. I do have some of that old stuff out in the barn...think I'll get it fired up.
In fact I have thought many times of dropping out myself. All that is keeping me
going is the fact that I love CW, I love ham radio, and being the eternal optimist I
keep hoping all will be better soon. But I know better.
Yes a lot of the depression about the service is the constant battles on the air. Yes we all KNOW about it ALL. What is the answer to end it? Probably either QRT or stay on CW. Which is a viable option for me.
Also it seems to be there is very little knowledge of the history of ham radio. You folks really need to catch up. HR is NOT CB. Stop trying to turn it into it.

on whenever I want. But I usually get on in mid to late afternoons, and quit when
the band dies. Here lately it's been quite a bit later in the evening, basically
normal.
I've been a ham for 47 years. I have operated through several sunspot cycles and have been on the air from South East Asia, Pacific, Europe and several places in
the US.
What I'm getting at is that I have been active from various parts of the world for nearly 5 decades, so I think I can make these observations.
We may have the numbers, BUT we certainly don't have the on the air activity. Two meter FM is basically dead. From what I've read and heard it is all over the country. Any comments on why out there in cyber-space?
Yes I know sunspots make a big difference. However what normaly would happen is that everyone would be squeezed to the MUF part of the spectrum. I.E. 40 and 20
meters. However one can tune 20 meters and find massive areas of no signal. 40
is not much different. And CW is even less active.
I remember when it was nearly impossible to find a hole to squeeze into on 40 or 20
meter phone nearly anytime of the day. But it sure ain't like that now.
HOWEVER it is not a total matter of propagation. I also like to contest...have you ever noticed how active the bands are during a major contest? See my point?
Tell me....when I was first on the air, we had about 200K stations. Now were at what 900K? Uh where are they? Look at the latest on the Extra///where are they at?
Something is rotten here folks.
Yeah I know, conditions suck. But guess what? Put up a real antenna, you will work what you hear. Nothing changed here. Trying to work any distance at all on say, 20 phone, with a 100watt rig into a maybe resonant antenna is asking to be ignored.
I hate to tell ya but HF is NOT like 2m FM Repeaters.
What has changed in my opinion is the "ham spirit" has DIED. That's right, DIED. I hear very little talk of building anything any more. I hear lots of Extra's getting store bought antenna's and not having a clue on how to make a simple dipole. Build a rig? All I see is some QRP guys doing that. VHF/UHF weak signal? Nope...where are all the real hams these days? Have they all died out? Or have they gave up? I think it is the later. I do hear a lot of old time ham speak, you know like fixing, modifying, building equipment on the AM groups. WOW...what does that say, eh? I like that mode, to a point. Life is a bit short for 45 minute transmissions from one station in a group of 4 or more...hi hi. I do have some of that old stuff out in the barn...think I'll get it fired up.
In fact I have thought many times of dropping out myself. All that is keeping me
going is the fact that I love CW, I love ham radio, and being the eternal optimist I
keep hoping all will be better soon. But I know better.
Yes a lot of the depression about the service is the constant battles on the air. Yes we all KNOW about it ALL. What is the answer to end it? Probably either QRT or stay on CW. Which is a viable option for me.
Also it seems to be there is very little knowledge of the history of ham radio. You folks really need to catch up. HR is NOT CB. Stop trying to turn it into it.

Ham radio stuff
I've been catching up on lost Zsss all day. Woke up about 8pm and fired up the ole rig. WOW....there on 14.275 was Mikey calling CQ NO CONTEST. And there was Karol bitching and threatning Mikey as usual. And music from "Radio Canada" and various and sundry morons making noise.
So I tuned around and there were bunches of IARU (International Amateur Radio Union contest participants.
Like it's 10.30 PM now in Alabama and Twenty is wide open. So I got on CW at 150 watts to the antique TA33 and worked a few on the low end. New Zealand loud and clear.
Guess I know a lot less than I thought about HF propagation. I thought the bands were supposed to be dead this time of night?
Oh well...think I'll pass out some more Qs.

No "Anonymous" it does NOT mean you won't hear me any longer on 14.275. And I'm certainly not going to kill this blog just to accomidate YOU. Sorry to disapoint you. It may seem to you as you tune by and hear the bedlam and a few of us trying to talk AND USING OUR CALLS are causing this mess. When in actuality KFM usually just comes in and starts CQing on top of on going QSO's real regular. Are we in the States to NEVER use 275 just because a A-hole in Canada wants to stir up hate and discontent? I don't think so.
But you see, we are not the problem children. How is it you know I even operate that frequency? BECAUSE I IDENTIFY MY STATION. Do you hear the guy with the music saying his call sign? Or course not. Karol is the problem. Karol has turned 275 into a zoo. Intentionally I might add. And amazingly has manage to snow several ham operators in what??? 5 years or so? Good score, hu? Course most to all of them are GONE. Wonder why that is? He certainly didn't snow ball Mr. Hollingsworth or Martin of the FCC. He certainly didn't cause Riley to retire like he keeps saying.
It's a big game with him. Industry Canada has created a monster by their inattention. I realise spending big bux to do a Satellite fix is a waste of money on a bunch of idiots jamming each other. But KFM is right down the road from Jim Laursen at IC. How hard is it to turn on a portable Sony and give it a listen? Right.
The ONLY REASON VE7KFM is still on is the corruption in Industry Canada. Their flat refusal to do anything at all about his rantings is well beyond the pale.

14.275 the discrace of Amateur Radio
I am a veteran of the last period of radio wars. The one between the BARF and the so called Goodfellows, whatever. The BARF being the Bigoted Ayrian Racist Federation, or sometimes refereed to as the Better Amateur Radio Foundation. Again take your pick.
The side I THOUGHT I was on, was the ones with the White hat, the Goodfellows. I wonder about that now. But that is not the purpose of this commentary.
I just spent the last couple hours listening to 14.275. With the exception of hearing VE7KFM and his crappy sounding Marine radio bitching, moaning and accusing it SOUNDED EXACTLY LIKE 14.313 of years past. INCLUDING SOME OF THE SAME PLAYERS. Did you catch that? SOME OF THE SAME PLAYERS.
Like the guy that HATES George W. Bush and has that deep Southern Drawl, but ain't in the South. Or the guy that plays the 60s Rock music with a signal so loud that it can't be beamed at. And several others, but much weaker. Propagation or not running any amps?
Point being that this crap has escalated beyond the point of sensibility. All you clowns out there need to take a TIME OUT. Or PULL THE TRIGGER....I'm to the point that I don't give a damn which.
You people jamming, and trying to talk over, and acting like total idiots are accomplishing what, exactly? Why don't you just put on the dummy load, turn on the monitor on your rig and plug in the cans (earphones for you new guys)??? Then yap all the hell you want. Your doing as much good as you are having it on the antenna.
KAROL F. MADERA WANTS YOU TO ACT THE IDIOT. Don't you know that? Or are you the stupid one? Truth hurts don't it?

How often do we contemplate the cost of our freedom, “the Toil and Blood and Treasure?”
Our Founders believed that independence was more than a choice; they viewed our break from royal rule as necessary.
Consider the first statement of the Declaration: “When in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.”
The signatories were emphatic that separation from the crown was not only an objective, but an obligation: “But when a long train of abuses and usurpation's, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.—Such has been the patient sufferance of these Colonies; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to alter their former Systems of Government.” In conclusion, the Founders wrote, “We must, therefore, acquiesce in the necessity, which denounces our Separation...”
Their cause, of course, was not anti-government. Rather they objected to the misgovernment of the king, saying, “He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.” Furthermore, the Americans had been patient, petitioning their British rulers for redress for over a decade. Armed hostilities had commenced on April 19, 1775, at the battles of Lexington and Concord, and the colonists faced the full power of the British Empire in their quest for American independence.
One year before taking that step for nationhood, on July 5, 1775, the Continental Congress adopted the Olive Branch Petition, beseeching the British king for a peaceful resolution of the American colonies’ grievances. A day later, that same Congress resolved the “Declaration of the Causes and Necessities of Taking Up Arms.”
King George III refused to read the peace petition and assembled his armies. On July 2, 1776, Richard Henry Lee’s proposal for a formal declaration of separation passed, and the document was ordered printed on July 4.
The war-weary among us today might ask, was independence really necessary?
To pose the question at the outset of the Revolutionary War was to answer it. Representatives of the colonial Americans realized that, in voicing this query, they already possessed proof that they, not the King of England, were legitimate instruments of self-government for their countrymen. How could circumstances be otherwise when the king offered no remedy for his subjects’ complaints, no guarantee their rights would be respected, and no means for them to govern themselves in their new lands?
The founders knew, however, that power could not be its own justification. They recognized that only an appeal to overarching laws, binding the king as much as his subjects, was legitimate. And abuse of authority demonstrated disqualification of any governor, whether a monarch or a purported representative.
We would do well to apply this insight to the political debates of today.
Indeed, two competing philosophies of government at odds during the American Revolution have reappeared, with the anti-republican form seen in those politicians who would seek to gain favor by manipulating language and misrepresenting their positions. Royalists, on the other hand, believed that the king was divinely ordained to rule over the people and was therefore above the law. This view is manifest currently in government officials—especially our elected officers—who believe they may properly command the citizenry to whatever they please, to whichever they purport to be for the good of the people.
As Thomas Jefferson observed, “Were we directed from Washington when to sow, and when to reap, we should soon want bread.” Yet the prevailing philosophy of government proposes exactly this—that directions from Washington as to how we must conduct ourselves, in matters large and small, will lead inexorably to scarcity and will inevitably erode our freedom.
Our system of government today is not so different from the monarchy we escaped, except that a swarm of bureaucrats have taken up the throne.
A necessity thus presents itself to us as well: We must reconnect with the timeless principles that inspired our Founding Fathers; those same principles that long ago gave birth to a good, great and God-blessed nation.
“[W]hat do we mean by the American Revolution?” reflected John Adams. “Do we mean the American war? The Revolution was effected before the war commenced. The Revolution was in the minds and hearts of the people; a change in their religious sentiments, of their duties and obligations... This radical change in the principles, opinions, sentiments, and affections of the people was the real American Revolution.”
Let us celebrate this Independence Day 2008 in a manner that Adams himself might recognize—with “solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty,” and with a re dedication to the principles of our necessary American Revolution. And as always, in the words of George Washington, “Guard against the impostures of pretended patriotism.”

The Necessary Holiday
If our nation’s Founders could visit us on this, our 232nd Independence Day, what would they make of us? What would they declare of us?
A hint can be discerned in a letter from John Adams to his wife, Abigail, on July 3, 1776, as the Declaration of Independence had just been approved. “It ought to be commemorated,” said the man who would become our second president, “as the Day of Deliverance by solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more. He's Back boys and girls
The Kanadian Fried CuCoo is alive and well. I heard reports of his demise and reports of him blowing up his coax. I guess he crawled out of the septic tank where someone threw his body and replaced the coax cuz he was raising hell on 14.275 last night.
On my way out of the shack to catch the boob tube I heard KFM holding forth with his usual rants. He was claiming W4NTI (me) was jamming him. I had just come up from digital mode, the microphone was not even plugged in to my rig and I had disconnected my Tri-bander because of reports of storms last night. So I hooked it back up and said hello to the Fruitloop, trying to tell him it wasn't me. Why bother right? Totally ignored me. Damn, QRMing myself again. What a deal. Well not really, after all I hold the record. I was in ICU (Intensive Care) this time last year and Karol is reported to have claimed I was QRMing him. Well I fess up, I snuck into the MRI room, hooked up the output of the 8877 to a 20m dipole I build from the phone line and sent my call in CW....But here is the best one....a few months later the Texas Twit NR5T claimed I was DEAD. Of course Karol just loved the thought of that. And I was QRMing him then too. WOW....I'm good, eh?
Like I said when I began this BLOG, I'll put out my side, believe who you want.
Well poor Karol must be having fits. A Belgium station is on his private frequency working Stateside. Anyone wanna bet he tries to QRM them off and / or works the guy and then takes over swearing he was there and for the DX to move? Does it all the time.
Guess thats why Karol really don't like me and my friends, he can't bully us around.

Ramblings and such.
Have you noticed how quiet 14.275 has been lately? Actually this is normal for when the Kanadian Fried Moron isn't around. Normal QSO's, DX being worked, normal ham to ham conversations. With just a little bit of tape playing silliness. Unfortunately some folks can't stand peace and quiet.
Lets say it the way it is folks....When Karol Madera, VE7KFM is NOT around then there is no madness and mayhem on the band. WONDER WHAT THAT MEANS?
He likes to say its because of him having a Spanish sounding last name...Uh..try Czechoslovakian. (He don't even know his family history). Or that he "speaks a foreign language" Not much anymore, his antics have long ago chased off the good Polish operators years ago. When the real reason is a clear as the wart on the end of his nose. PEOPLE HATE HIS GUTS BECAUSE OF HIS MOUTH, HIS LIES, HIS CRAPPY WIDE SIGNAL...etc.
Speaking of wide signals....wow was 20 eat up with Field Day activity on Saturday. I didn't play much but worked 108 stations. I did it all CW, phone was way to crowded to bother with since I was just operating from the house.
The only club that had a field day shut down at 7pm on SATURDAY. What did they get on the air....4 hours? Why bother is the question here. Next year I think I'll solicit some real hams and find us a spot, bring the cooler, fill it with ice and put in some cans to cool. Fire up the grill, and do it right. Who needs a club to enjoy each other, eh? Sure can't get the local club to do it. There so eat up with Emergency Comms they don't have any room for ham radio stuff. Bunch of Technicians that have a license because FEMA likes it that way. Sure ain't my deal with Ham Radio.
Don't get me wrong here, FEMA and the EOC have their deal, and this bunch has let them turn them into unpaid slaves in my opinion. I've done EMCOM all my adult life but that ain't good enough. Gotta take courses, pass tests, suck up to the EMA Director, etc. Forget that. When the crap hits the fan I'll be available, if they don't want me, that's fine too. Don't have to prove myself to anyone.
I just heard something that makes me want to cry. A Belgium station had to explain to a Stateside station WHERE BELGIUM WAS LOCATED. Keep up the good work you liberal school teachers.
