First picture is of a USAF O1 Birdog. Used to spot Viet Cong targets for Combat Air Strikes in Vietnam.
Next picture is how the Air Force lived high on the hog.

I imagine those spotters had a rough go of it. I can't imagine how tough it had to be fighting a war knowing people like John Kerry twisted things to fit his agenda for politics. All the while tarnishing the good names of many people on his boat and others, just to further his and his ilks (sp?) cause.
Those little Cessna's made about 90MPH. They flew them low and close. They were usually ex fighter jocks from maybe another war or for some physical reason couldn't do jets any longer.
I knew a lot of them up close and personal. All good people.
Your comment about John Kerry....well at the time I don't think many of us were worried about his type. In fact it really didn't occur to anyone that this country would turn into this pile of crap we have today. It's a real shame.
I just hope there is enought time for people like YOU to pull us back up on the right trail.

I give to the RNC and as much as I don't want McCain I am supporting him. He will at least defend this country to the death, not sign off its sovereignty to the UN or if Israel does go to Iran, won’t stand aside like a limp wristed weakling like Obama will.
The day Obama gets into office (I fear this will happen as much as I pray it won’t) the world will know the US for the next 4 years will have no balls to fight anybody.
Imagine, we spend a BILLION to elect a guy for 4 years, can you imagine a worse investment????
To me it looks like we’re going to have to let the Dems screw things up but good for the next 4 years and pray we win in 2012.
Then pray some more that the country is ready to get serious about doing what’s right for everybody, not what just feels good to us. This ME generation crap needs to end, now.
We need the WWII generation back, they knew exactly what sacrifice and the needs of the many out weighing the needs of the few better than anybody except maybe the founding fathers. Many from the Vietnam generation knew this as well. I fear we will never know a generation like this again, ever.
I'll stop now, I hear you on 14.275, sounds like some good QSo's going on!
